Run wild at multiple winner of Norfolk’s Best Large Visitor Attraction! Home to some of the nation’s rarest and most endangered wildlife, Pensthorpe Natural Park’s ethos is to encourage children to swap WIFI for wildlife with its clever approach to nature education through adventure play. Encountering flamingos, cranes and red squirrels to name but a few, the Park offers a fun-packed day out for wildlife-lovers and children of all ages.
For adventurous families, you are guaranteed an exhilarating day of ‘adventure play, nature’s way’ as you journey with ‘Hootz’ the owl into WildRootz! From a giant 11m high winding slide tower known as ‘The Worm’ to a shallow stream to splash through, WildRootz is designed to reconnect children to the natural world. You can swoop like a falcon, scramble like a spider and dig like a mole as you discover underground burrows, zipwires and an assault course in the trees! Grab your WildRootz Passport and embark on a journey around the park discovering stamp stations, mirror trails and a larger than life bug walk!
For those who love hands-on learning, pick up a net and find underwater wildlife in our Pond Dipping pond and finish off your day with our commentated Daily Bird Feed at 4pm which allows you to gain an insight into the wildlife that visits the park.
Indoor play goes wild too at Pensthorpe with Hootz House, the award winning indoor play area, complete with soft play for the under 5s. Scramble, scamper, climb and slide and have hours of fun in this magical natural world – whatever the weather outside.
