A 3-Star Silver Award, 2 AA Rosette Inn on the A149 coast road in Brancaster Staithe, The White Horse is undoubtedly one of the best places to drink, dine and relax in the region.
It is located on an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), with some of the most stunning panoramic views across tidal marshes and sandy beaches that you’ll see anywhere in North Norfolk. Sunsets seen from The White Horse terrace (and rises as well if you’re an early bird) are truly dazzling.
A coastal pub built in 1934, The White Horse is tastefully styled with chic, modern décor that perfectly complements its seashore setting. Plenty of natural materials and nautical blues, greys and whites create a calm, welcoming environment.
The bar at The White Horse is well stocked with real ale on tap from the associated Brancaster Brewery (view tasting notes and a Brief History of the Brancaster Brewery), along with other local brews including Woodfordes Wherry, Adnams Bitter and changing guest ales.
A well-chosen wine list offers choices from around the world both by the bottle or the glass.
There are plenty of non-alcoholic choices too, including a variety of teas and coffee. We like the wonderfully refreshing ‘Norfolk Orchards’ assortment, with locally produced Cox apple juice and non-alcoholic Pippin cocktail (local cider also featured, which is alcoholic. As cider should be).
For the peckish, there is delicious local, seasonal fare all day long.
Dining is an unhurried experience, intended to be savoured. Food can be eaten at the bar or, if you want to dine al fresco, there is the courtyard, terrace and Marshside.
