Take a buggy safari around a wonderful wildlife reserve in West Norfolk at Watatunga.
Watatunga is a beautiful NEW wildlife reserve in West Norfolk just outside King’s Lynn. The reserve is home to more than twenty-five deer and antelope species along with some rare birds. Fabulously, they offer self-drive guided buggy tours and 5-star self-catering accommodation.
Join a guided tour around Watatunga, set in 170 acres of ancient woodland, grasses and lakes, for the opportunity to learn about their approach to conservation. All the animals roam free in the reserve and Watatunga’s expert guides will keep you entertained over a 90 minute excursion unlike any other. With Great Bustards patrolling the hedgerows, highly endangered Mountain Bongo making their home in the woodland – a tour of Watatunga is a fun adventure for all the family.
All tours must be pre-booked in advance via the Watatunga website, and children under 2 must be carried in a sling or harness on an adults’ lap. They also offer private tours, so do get in touch to book an exclusive visit to the reserve.
Accommodation at Watatunga consists of two newly renovated, five-star self-catering cottages. Major’s Lodge, sleeping eight, is a single storey wooden safari lodge where guests can enjoy exclusive use of the buggies during their stay and have access to a large state-of-the-art bird hide. The Stable cottage, also sleeping eight, is situated in the beautiful walled gardens of the Watlington Estate with a brand-new tennis court where guests can enjoy some of Watatunga’s wildlife from across the garden wall. Fabulous.
