The team at Redwings Horse Sanctuary are really excited about the summer holidays and they’ve got a packed schedule of events, activities and demonstrations for you to join in with and enjoy the horsey fun!
Redwings Aylsham in North Norfolk will be open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm during the school summer holidays with different themes running throughout the summer to help you make the most of Redwings’ wonderful variety of equine residents. These include:
18th – 31st July: We Love Ponies! Celebrate some of the smaller four-legged friends from tiny Shetlands to cute Welshies and cuddly cobs – just like spotty appaloosa pony Cookie.
1st – 14th August: We Love Donkeys! Who can resist these beautiful long-eared creatures?! Not to mention donkey duo Wiggins and Wacko!
15th August – 4th September: We Love Horses! Redwings’ impressive larger residents take centre stage for the final three weeks, so come along to meet beautiful Maya and handsome Gulliver!
Each day there will be themed activities including hands-on grooming sessions, quizzes, creative crafts, demonstrations and guided tours.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the team at Redwings are also delighted to be launching their Redwings Aylsham Summer Club for children aged 5-16! The club will run every Friday during the summer holidays and offers a hands on, behind-the-scenes look at how they care for our Redwings’ residents. Although these fun sessions are recommended for children, the whole family is welcome to join in.
There’s so much to see and do at Redwings this summer. Whether you’re a regular visitor or only just discovering this fun and educational place to visit, there is sure to be something for everyone over the coming weeks and with free entry and parking it’s a perfect opportunity to come and explore!
