Sitting pretty on Fish Hill, Norfolk’s award-winning Eric’s Fish And Chips brings a brand-new restaurant and takeaway to the heart of North Norfolk. The third opening from Executive Chef Eric Snaith, Eric’s Fish And Chips Holt offers a modern take on this quintessential British double act.
A TASTE OF THE SEASIDE
Open daily from noon until 9pm, the classic eat-in and takeaway menu, with a modern European twist, inspired by Eric’s three-AA Rosette Titchwell Manor, showcases the best of the Norfolk coast. Well-honed classics from Eric’s Fish And Chips sister restaurants in Thornham and St Ives feature on the menu, including sustainably caught cod, haddock and plaice, dipped and fried in Green King IPA batter and traditional beef dripping for optimum crisp, and chips (with vegetarian alternatives available).
Contemporary dishes such as Japanese-style fish burgers, Kansas City wings, and halloumi and spinach arancini, all under £10, provide alternative options, while homemade sauces and condiments, such as a classic tartare or punchy black garlic mayo, bring the ultimate flavour kick.
The perfect weekend treat for all the family, kids can choose from a dedicated menu featuring cod, fishcakes, scampi or battered sausage, with meat sourced from Suffolk farm, Dingley Dell.
SWEET SCOOPS
For those looking for a sweet ending to their meal, guests can mix and match seasonal gelato and sorbet created in collaboration with East Coast Gelato. Flavours range from parma violet to passion fruit ripple and vegan banana cream. Custom toppings such as caramelised cornflakes provide the perfect garnish.
BEER AND BUBBLES
A cold pint of Eric’s Fish And Chips own Session Pale Ale, exclusively created for the restaurant by craft brewery BrewBoard, complements the menu.
For those who prefer the grape to the grain, French and English wines and champagnes selected by Titchwell Manor’s supplier Hallgarten Druitt are available by the glass and bottle. Batch cocktails such as Seabuckthorn mojito are the perfect toast to summer, while homemade soft drinks like Eric’s raspberry iced tea and mint-infused lemonade are refreshing non-alcoholic options.
THE LOOK
Step inside the Grade II listed building to find maritime-meets-modern interiors designed by Shaun Clarkson ID. In keeping with the group’s aesthetic, a coastal colourway of blues and greens offset by accents of traffic orange and warm brass touches creates a bright and inviting space, while outside, white washed walls with blue trim painted in Holt heritage colours hark back to traditional British chippies of the past. Take a seat at one of the plush orange banquettes or pull up a chair at the pastel coloured dining tables. A feature wall of Eric’s Fish And Chips signature tiles complements the seaside colour palette, while the menu is emblazoned on a large vintage-style letter board.
We love Eric’s at Thornham and will be visiting Holt very soon!
